Welcome/Bienvenido!

I am currently a Research Scientist in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence at Arizona State University. My research focuses on developing computational frameworks to advance Earth and space science research. I oversee the New Observing Strategies Testbed (NOS-T) project, a digital engineering environment for testing and developing observing strategies, within Dr. Paul Grogan’s Collective Design (CoDe) Lab. I am passionate about working with cross-functional teams to develop innovative science and engineering solutions for major global challenges, such as climate change.

I earned my Ph.D. in Dr. Duke Pauli’s lab at the University of Arizona’s School of Plant Sciences. My doctoral research produced tools and algorithms that expanded the scope of research questions in plant science through the integration of data and computer science. During my graduate studies, I mentored over 20 undergraduate students, delivered more than 30 science talks and hands-on workshops, and published 7 peer-reviewed journal articles. Additionally, I developed transdisciplinary skills that enable me to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
